NRF52 Dallas slave (1-wire) with BT

Hi,

I developed a unit on NRF52 which is "CENTRAL". This unit connects to multiple "PHERIPHERAL" units and it's working great.

Now, i need to connect this "CENTRAL" unit to a "DALLAS MASTER" (1-wire) external unit. so i need to implement "DALLAS SLAVE" on my NRF52 CENTRAL unit...

Is it possible to do that without causing problems to the BT traffic?
Is there a hardware in the NRF52 which can help in implementing this?

I saw here already an implementaion on the NRF51 but as far as i see it supports only the "dallas" protocol but without BT... (So this solution don't help me).

Any idea ?!

Hi Yuval,

  I can make a One Wire peripheral work, but no along with BLE so far. I am wondering if it is possible to make them both work along.

  I used this library, not too dificult to adapt.

As I mention above, most likely not. The protocol will have to wait for the softdevice events to complete before reading/writing GPIOs. You will then not be able to read incoming messages on the bus and respond appropriately.

  Thanks for the reply. Do you know if it would it be possible to achieve if I made readings through the Timeslot API? I could ask the softdevice for some continuous time, theoretically, and have an extension with enough time to send and receive data.

It might be possible, but I guess it depends on the length of the transfers. Please have a look at the timeslot API tutorial. If you are having issues with timeslots, please post a new thread about your issues.
