nRFgo Studio will not launch after upgrading to 1.17.0

Hello, I upgraded nRFgo Studio software to version 1.17.0. Installation goes OK but the application crashes every time I try to launch it after installation process.. Then again I tried to revert back to version 1.16.1. Now 1.16.1 is broken too. The very same symptom - immediate application crash right after the start up. Any advice?

I (used to) run 64-bit version in top of Windows 8.0.
