whitelist private resolvable address

Is it possible to whitelist a private resolvable address without bonding, or is bonding required? I want to limit reconnection to the same central after it disconnects, but this is hard to do with an iPhone since it does not support directed advertising and has a private resolvable address. Does the iPhone need to be bonded in order to add it to a whitelist?

  • Hi Adam, It is possible to whitelist a private resolvable address without bonding as long as you know what IRK is being used to generate the address. This could be a setup where you control both sides.

Since you mention an iPhone, I would have to say that this is not possible without bonding, as the address of the iPhone could have changed while you were in an connection. Thus you would have to whitelist with the IRK that you receive during bonding.

As I mentioned it does not have to be bonded to add it to a whitelist (just the address), but it could result in that it is not able to connect again because it changed address while it was in a connection. It changes address within 15 minutes.
