CAN Library for OBD 2 scanners

Hello

We are currently making STN1170 based OBD II scanners with the nRF52810 for communications. The product is stable and available for commercial deployment, however the next logical step for the product is to do away with the STN1170 and directly communicate with a external CAN controller like the MCP2515. Perhaps the 810 might be under powered and we might have to move to 840. But the aim is to do away with the STN1170. 

The bottle neck from a firmware perspective is a CAN library on the nRF52840 that can communicate with the MCP2515 (or other CAN controllers). Any one has any experience with CAN on nRF52x

Hi,

I do not have any experience with CAN libraries on nRF52, but I don't think it should be that much work to port an arduino library like this one to work with the SPI drivers in our SDK. You can also have a look at this thread about MCP2515 with the nRF51.
