BLE mesh sensor network nRF52840

I'm building battery power BLE mesh network  the nodes mast have the publishing period  match greater than 5 minutes. And my question is how to estimate  the power consumption in two scenarios?
1.  The mesh is running all time and the minimum 5  minutes  ones all nodes publish data.
2. The nodes after the first establishment of mesh network are going to sleep and after the 5 minute all nodes wake-up and start again to build mesh and share sensor data.

And if you look more power efficient approach please share it.

  • Hi,

I need more information about your use-case and what your are trying to do?

Do you want a mesh network with only battery powered nodes? If so, that's going to be very hard using BLE Mesh. We do not support the low power node role ATM, so power consumption is quite high. I don't think sleeping for 5min and then waking up sounds like a feasible solution, the devices would need quite accurate timers.
