How many concurrent connections is possible to support with s140_nrf52_6.0.0

I understand from forum post https://devzone.nordicsemi.com/f/nordic-q-a/19250/the-number-of-central-connections-in-s140 that S140 v5.0.0 1.alpha release supports 8 concurrent central role connections and that s132 from S132 v4.0.0 2. alpha release supports up to 20 connections. 

Does s140_nrf52_6.0.0 only support 8 connections or has it increased? If so, can we expect support for more connections in coming releases?

We will be developing for nRF52480.

Hi,

Yes, S140 v.6.0.0 have support for 20 links in total with freely selectable role (Central/Peripheral).

For S140 this was added in s140_nrf52840_5.0.0-2.alpha.

Hi cedric,

It's not possible to increase it beyond 20. If you need many more links, I would suggest to take a look at Bluetooth Mesh.

From the Cassia-E1000 datasheet here, you can see that Cassia achieved this by using 2x nRF52832's.
