MacOS Sierra Version 10.12.6 Wireshark does not display Source, Destination or Info

This may not be the place to ask this question but have to start somewhere.

1. Using an Adafuit BLE Sniffer nRF51822.

2. Ble-sniffer-osx, Version 1.2. 4 (build 28)

3. Wireshark version 2.0.0

4. plugin nordic_btle_2.0

Everything installs and works correctly EXCEPT

Wire shark columns "Source", "Destination" and "info" are blank no data.

"Frame" window pane has size and timing information no protocol or packet decode.

"Data" window pane appears to have the correct packet data.

On another Windows computer the BLE sniffer software and Wireshark

work correctly with all data capture and decode.

Need it too work correctly on the Mac.

                     Thanks

  • Hello Bjorn:

    1. Are you using this ble sniffer here?

Yes that is the software downloaded and running.

    2. My guess is you have already taken a look at the documentation, right?

Yes these are the instructions followed for the installation.

Did NOT update the software on the Adafruit board since it works

correctly with Windows system. Adafruit wards updates may brick their board.

    3. Could you try downgrading to wireshark v1.10.1 to see if that helps?

Had problems installing XQuartz, that is why we used Wireshark 2.0.0

         will try again.

    4. I see you've already posted the question on the sourceforge forum too, which is a good idea. Have you asked over at adafruit support to see if      they could help?

         Will post it to AdaFruit.
