S132 SD version to use for getting Bluetooth SiG approval

Hi,

We are transitioning a product from the nRF51 to nRF52832, and I am looking into what I need to do to get our code ported over and approved with the Bluetooth SiG.

1) As I work on porting our code, I would like to use the most up-to-date SoftDevice, but when looking thru Nordic QDID's on the SiG website, I am only seeing SD as recent as V5.1.0 (QDID 102543 and 103875).  However, S132 V6.0.0 appears to be the current latest release.  Will V6.0.0 soon have SiG qualification, or is it best to use V5.1.0?

2) Document "nRF52_Series_Migration_v1.0.pdf" recommends starting with S132 v1.0.0-3.alpha.  Do you still recommend starting with this SD, and working my way up to the latest SD version?  Or, is it better to jump right into the latest SD?

Thanks,

Robbie

  • Hi,

I just checked this internally. The QDID 103875 is valid for both S132 v5.1.0 and S132 v6.0.0, it is just that the text in the bluetooth listing has not been updated. We are working on resolving this.

    2) Document "nRF52_Series_Migration_v1.0.pdf" recommends starting with S132 v1.0.0-3.alpha.  Do you still recommend starting with this SD, and working my way up to the latest SD version?  Or, is it better to jump right into the latest SD?

We recommend to use a production release of our SoftDevices, and if you're starting a new development, it is recommended to use the latest SDK and the SoftDevice it supports.

At this time, this will be SDK 15 and S132 v6.0.0.

    Kind regards,

    Håkon

  • Hi,

I have the same question concerning the BT Listing for S132 v6.0.x

Few month passed since your answer, still S132 v6.0.0 does not appear on the official Bluetooth Site.

Went something wrong? Is it really listed?

    Regards.
