Nordic Thingy: 52 Power Draw

Hey Devs,

Would someone be able to tell me the power draw on the Thingy? How long will the onboard battery (1440 mAh) last on it?

Hi Afnan,

The power consumption will depend entirely on what you want to do with the Thingy:52. If you simply send an Eddystone URL advertisement every minute the battery will last several years. If you stream audio the battery will last a few days.

Let's suppose the LEDs will keep on blinking, it will constantly be sending sensor data via Bluetooth and the beacon will also be on throughout this time. How long will the onboard battery last?

Hi Afnan,

Unfortunately we do not have time to do these power measurements. I recommend you get an oscilloscope and do the measurements yourself. The Power Profiler Kit is an affordable alternative if you do not have access to other equipment.
