COMP: when READY event emits, is the RESULT register valid?

After configuring and enabling COMP, when READY event emits, is the RESULT register valid?
Rephrasing the question: must you trigger the SAMPLE task to ensure RESULT register is valid?

The docs say that when the READY event emits: "its output is correct".  The word "output" is confusing.  I suppose it means only "the output signal" (in the diagrams.)  Yet one could interpret it to mean (generically): all the registers having an outward arrow (including the RESULT register.)

And Figure 6 shows that the RESULT register is determinate when the READY signal is emitted.

Hey butch,

The value of the RESULT register can only be trusted after the READY event has fired. In this state the COMP will fire the interrupts according to its configured boundaries, ie when the signal crosses any of the boundaries.

You can also trigger the SAMPLE task to get the immediate value of the COMP(above or below). 

You should read the PANs related to the COMP peripheral: [12] COMP: Reference ladder is not correctly calibrated, [84] COMP: ISOURCE not functional, and [113] COMP: Single-ended mode with external reference is not functional.
