DEVICE NOT WORKING

Hello Guys,

I have brought this nrf52840 to try BLE mesh. I tried connecting it to the PC and it was working fine, later I tried dumping the file into the board through the J link software. But right now the device is not even being detected at the port.

Thanks

  • Hello,

Can you please try some steps:

    • First, check that the power switch is on (you probably have already, but you would be surprised how often this step solves the issue).

    • Check that SW6 (right by the LEDs on the DK) is in the "DEFAULT" position.

    • SW9 should be in the VDD position

    • Check with another cable. some USB cables only have GND and VDD, and no data cables (charging only cables).
    • If this still doesn't work. Try to hold the reset button (marked "IF BOOT/RESET") while you turn the board off and on again with the power switch. Then the board should show up as "BOOTLOADER" for a limited amount of time. If it disappears, do it again. Then drag and drop the latest file from here into the BOOTLOADER folder. This will reprogram the segger chip on the DK. LED5 should start blinking rapidly after this, and the BOOTLOADER drive will disappear. When this is done, turn the power off and on again (without holding any buttons), and then it should reappear as a JLINK device.

If none of this works, please let me know what version of the board that you have. It should say something like this on the big chip with the white sticker:

    PCA10056

    V0.9.0

    2016.48

    123456789 <-- I don't (!) need this number

Please let me know these numbers (except the last) if it doesn't work.

    Best regards,

    Edvin
