What is the sniffer that you are talking about ?
additionally mention the name of the board and the board version you are using .
if you are using Adafruit products as a sniffer , note that they do not have the jlink emulator ic on their boards and the jlink behaviour that you see will be expected.
Edit:
Added information on the Adafruit board:
The adafruit board should work with the nRF Sniffer v2 which integrates directly with Wireshark 2.4.6 , you will not need to re-flash the firmware as the default firmware loaded on the adafruit board should work

David, Yes I am using the Adafruit sniffer. They direct their customers to the Notrdic sniffer site for all support. Since Jlink cannot find the device them I am not able to update the firmware. Catch 22. Where do I go from here other than returning the device for a refund?
