Can NRF52 decoded other BLE device ?

Hi Nordic team

I would like to have golden version BLE DK as a BLE receiver.

Is the NRF52 compatible with other brand BLE DK or market product?

As I know the BLE device always take the role as peripheral, which means the central is a phone or a PC.

Of course it work functional and indeed, but what if it is an DK?

The point I care is the PHY of the bluetooth, should I take the upper layer as a concern?

  • Hi!

The nRF52 is compatible with other brands or market products, yes.
As long as the BLE device on the other end is following the Bluetooth specification, there shouldn't be any problems.

As I know the BLE device always take the role as peripheral, which means the central is a phone or a PC.

The BLE device is not necessarily always the peripheral. There is no problem that other devices than a phone or a PC acts as the central.
We have central examples for our devices available in the SDK. You can test this using our DK's.
For example, we have a matching HRS peripheral/central example that you can take a look at.

Let me know if you have further questions.
    Best regards,
    Joakim.
