Basic Application for Advertising

Hi,

I am new to Nordic's softdevice based development and I want to build a basic application for advertising to understand more about the softdevice. I went through the example in SDK, but I cannot understand the code flow, which calls are to be there in the application, what files need to be included, what is the sequence of calls required. The material available on the infocenter is too confusing for a novice who is confused where to start with. 

I need help to start with the kit to build applications on my own. Can someone help me with the basic skeleton that I can build upon?

Hi,

I recommend you to start with the Getting Started guide in the SDK documentation if you are new to nRF development. Then the Bluetooth low energy Advertising, a beginner's tutorial is a good place to start to understand advertising. This explains the flow of a simple advertising example. Lastly, there is the Beacon example in the SDK. This is a minimal iBeacon like application which has a good amount of comments explaining what it is doing.

The SDK has a Template Application which is probably the closest you get to a BLE skeleton application. It is intended to be used as a basis for developing a BLE peripheral device.
