Licensing and Registration - Does anyone have any tips for limiting costs for CE and FCC licensing?

It would be very helpful to hear of others experiences getting these licenses, also I would like to find out if anyone has any advice of anything to be included or excluded from my pcb design to make this process easier, before I get it printed
