Pin assignment for using serial DFU in nrf52832

Dear Nordic Support Team,

I want to send the new PCB layout for manufacturer but I am not sure that 

I can use any pairs of pin for DFU over serial or not.

I want to use P0.11 and P0.12 and also ground to connect to  a usb to serial converter

and then implement a serial DFU to update our firmware over serial port.

I am using softdevice S132  version 4.0.5 s132_nrf52_4.0.5_API .

Hi,

Yes, you can use any GPIO pins for UART. You configure it by defining TX_PIN_NUMBER and RX_PIN_NUMBER in your project. By default we define the pins number in the board header file (for example pca10040.h)

So as I understand I can use any GPIO and assign them to the UART, (and only two pins are enough for TX and RX without using CTS and RTS)  then I can update my firmware by using them.  Am I right?

I'm not sure I understand what you mean by "the link that help me to do it quickly". Please do what I suggested in my ealier answer. 

You can do DFU without HWFC (CTS, RTS) however by not using HWFC, you are risking that the UART buffer maybe overflowed without the peer knowing that resulting in packet loss. Make sure you use PRN ( Packet Receipt Notification) to avoid overflow.
