Mini-USB data lines

Hi all,

I am new to hardware design and would greatly appreciate pointers. We intend to use mini-USB port for charging/power supply rather than for data. What is the best way to terminate the unused mini-USB D+/D- lines - float or grounding them?

    You can leave them floating or you can terminate them, if you are only using the USB interface for charging, it doesn't initially matter. But, some phone/tablet manufacturers puts voltage dividers on the data line in order to recognize a certain charger. So depending on what you want to charge, I would recommend to have a little look around google for USB charging whatever you are charging.
