Advertise long range for beacons

I would like to know what configurations are required to advertise long range.

adv_params.primary_phy     = BLE_GAP_PHY_CODED;
adv_params.secondary_phy   = BLE_GAP_PHY_CODED;

Just changing the phy. returns error 0x07

I compared the ble_app_blinky and ble_app_att_mtu_throughput, but they are to diffrent to find what's required.

Goal ist to programm a ble long range beacon.

The below parameters can be used to set up an advertiser on coded phy:

ble_gap_adv_params_t adv_params =

        .secondary_phy = BLE_GAP_PHY_CODED,
        .scan_req_notification = 1,
    };

I took the ble_app_blinky example, just changed the adv_params like above.

sd_ble_gap_adv_set_configure(&m_adv_handle, &m_adv_data, &adv_params);

still returns 0x07.

Tried on 2 DKs.

Could you compare the advertising parameters you use with the advertising parameters for coded phy used in this newly released BLE long range demo?

ok I found the Problem

scan_rsp_data.len is set to max in blinky example.

while .type = BLE_GAP_ADV_TYPE_EXTENDED_CONNECTABLE_NONSCANNABLE_UNDIRECTED

obviously that don't work.

either set:

• .type to BLE_GAP_ADV_TYPE_EXTENDED_NONCONNECTABLE_SCANNABLE_UNDIRECTED
• .len to 0

Hi Nydegger

I have a question with regards your solution (as I am having the same problem).

I want to set my device to connectable, so I take it I need:

.type = BLE_GAP_ADV_TYPE_EXTENDED_CONNECTABLE_NONSCANNABLE_UNDIRECTED

Are you suggesting that if I have the 'conectable mode' that I have to set the .len to 0 ??

If so what member is the '.len' associated with ??
