NFC Pairing examples - cannot pair

Good morning everyone,

I saw this question asked a few times, but no conversation was actually fixing the issue.

I am developing a product where I want the pairing to be made OOB using the NFC antenna.

I read the blog posts and the descriptions in the infocenter of the NFC example applications provided,

but I tried all the 3 of them (HR NFC, Keyboard HID and reference pairing), and in all the cases 

my smartphone (google pixel with android 8,1 installed) is able to detect the NFC, there is a popup

asking me if I want to connect, and when I say yes, after a few seconds it shows a second alert informing me that

it "Could not connect to NRF-HR" or Keyboard. 

I am actually not sure what I am missing, but I saw on the forum conversations that this problem has been around for quite a while,

so maybe someone has already came up with a solution and is able to help me.

What I need is just to complete the pairing, which seems to begin but then it aborts for some reason.

Could you use the nRF Sniffer to check what is being transferred over the air?

Hello,

it turned out that to use BLE on Android 8.1, you need to enable location services.....pretty logic, no?   -_- 

I am now able to pair using the NFC, thanks a lot! I hope my experience may be useful to others.

Hello lbe,

My android phone has version 10. but still getting wrong behavior from board. For the first time it paired successfully even I can see board name in my paired list but after a few seconds, it disconnects automatically. After that when I was going to connect again it showed me an error133 authorization failed. could you please help me with it, what I am missing.
