Advertising on two different PHY simultaneously

I'm planning to use the nRF52840 in a battery powered smart lock setup with multiple peripherals connected to one central using Coded PHY to increase the range. Due to the limited support of Bluetooth 5 / Coded PHY on smartphones, we also want to enable our peripherals to be able to communicate with smartphones using BLE and the standard PHY. 

On the documentation I've read that you can only activate an advertisement set simultaneously. My questions are:

• Can the device advertise using alternating PHY in order to support both standard BLE PHY and coded PHY?
• Is the device capable of establishing multiple connections using different PHY?

Hi,

 

1) No, You cannot set advertiser to advertise on alternating PHYs automatically. But in the future release (S140v6.1.0), the scanner will be able to scan on two different PHYs alternating.

2) Yes, The device will be able to make multiple connections and each connection can be on different PHY.
