nrf52832 Higher current consumption in sleep mode

Hi all,

I am using NRF52832 QFAAB0  with SDK 14.1v . Am not configuring any peripherals and just using the BLE stack in my application. During the power_manage() call the system is consuming current about ~130uA which is way higher than the proposed 2-4uA i have read.  Please suggest me is there anything am missing in my program or configuration. 

PS: same is the case observed when soft device is not used and programmed normally , its taking ~130uA. 

UPDATE: Am using BL652 Laird module which has nrf52832. sorry for missing this information while posting the question.

Can you check if logging is disabled: Go to sdk_config.h and check if NRF_LOG_ENABLED is set to 0.

Are you using the development kit or your own hardware?

Are some of the GPIOs configured with pull-ups, maybe from the bsd module or similar?

What happens if you just put the device to sleep without initializing anything? NRF_POWER->SYSTEMOFF = 1; in top of main.

Am using my own custom board. 

Yes NRF_LOG_ENABLED is set to 0.

cross verified the board. No GPIO's configured with pull ups.

when using NRF_POWER->SYSTEMOFF = 1 , the same amount of current ~130uA is consuming.

Can you please post the schematics of you custom board? If you set the nRF chip to System off, the current consumption is about 300nA, so then it has to be some external components. Thanks

Is there be any possibility of such high current consumption due to the use of internal RC oscillator as LF_SRC. Since am configuring clock with internal RC oscillator in BL652 Laird module.

No, the LFRC does not consume that much current.

Did you put NRF_POWER->SYSTEMOFF = 1; in top of main before initializing anything else?

Did you make sure the debugger was disconnected before doing measurements?

Can you also describe your measurement setup please
