3rd Party Batteries - Need to extend the battery life as long as possible

I am hoping to extend the battery life of the Nordic Thingy. Ideally a battery with about 10,000 mAh would be perfect. Is there a list of off the shelf batteries that other devs have used to put a larger battery on the Thingy? Things to be aware of when looking for a larger battery?

Hi,

We don't have such a list. Thingy:52 uses a Li-Po battery with a nominal capacity of 1440 mAh, and I believe most devs find that sufficient. You can read more about the power supply part of the Thingy:52 on this page. Also note that the battery can be recharged through USB.

Hi Sigurd, I would like to have a battery that has much more capacity. If I find a Li-Po batter that is also 3.7v, just far more than 1440 mAh... will that work to plug directly into the board? What do you call the default connector that the Thingy:52 uses?

Here is the link to the connector on the DigiKey site. As long as the LiPo battery is a single-cell LiPO you should be fine.

Is that a standard connector? Can I purchase a battery pack that will already have that connector on there? I don't need many of these. Ideally I want to get a disposable lithium thionyl chloride so at a low power draw in a harsh conditions my thingy will be powered for years.

I believe its a commenly used connector for LiPo batteries, you can find the BOM for the Thingy here. I would think that you can buy battery packs with the connector fitted to the leads.
