I use the sdk14.2 nrf52832 as the primary end, the two iphone phones as slaves, to establish a connection in most cases because of the 0x3e error to connect several times in order to maintain the connection, almost no disconnect after the connection is maintained, I think it possible There is a problem when you just started to establish a connection. When testing, have you removed the device (and it's bond information) from the iPhone? If yes, then you will have to delete the bond on the nRF as well.

Do you have a sniffer trace showing the issue? You can use the nRF-sniffer to capture this.

I would recommend that you look into using nRF Sniffer to debug your link. This would make things a lot easier in terms of looking at what the bluetooth link does.

0x3e = BLE_HCI_CONN_FAILED_TO_BE_ESTABLISHED. This indicates that the initial connection request was missed by the peripheral. Have you tried reducing the range between devices to see if the issue disappears?

I found that the nordic routine also has such a problem. I ran ble_app_uart and ble_app_uarat_c and found that they also had the same problem in the process of connecting. Not every time, the connection is successful. In most cases, the number of connections is greater than 1  is this a bug for nordic ???

It really does have a relationship with the distance between the two devices, but I still have occasional 0x3e when the distance between the two devices is close to 0m. When I widen the distance between devices, even <1m range, there are often multiple 0x3e disconnect events. If the reason is attributed to the signal and the distance, I am wondering if the communication quality is too bad. Can I still connect successfully at such a distance?

Unfortunately, I do not have two iphone's available here, but which iphone's specifically are you using?

 

I would still strongly recommend that you try to capture the BLE traffic using the nRF-sniffer (given that you have a spare kit to use):

I think this has nothing to do with the iphone. After all, the nordic routine I used will also have this problem. Although the effect is better than my program, it cannot be ruled out that this is a bug.
