Passkey Encryption for central and peripheral with no I/O capabilities and using different SDK's.

Hi,

               I have a central and peripheral device both are based on nRF52. Central device is running on SDK 12.2.0 and peripheral with SDK 11.0.0. I would like encrypt the communication using PASSSKEY method. However, both my devices have no display and keyboard. Is it possible to hard-code a passkey on both devices and use PASSKEY method of encryption? Or do I use Just Works?

Yes, you can do that with static passkey. 

You can have a look at this thread, or this example. 

They are pretty old but the principle is the same. You set IO capability on one device with display and the other with keyboard. On the display one, you set the static passkey with opt API and on the other side you feed the softdevice with the passkey when asked for, just like when you see the real number.
