If you want to control your device from a smart phone which has BLE support, within a relatively short range, BLE is a very nice protocol also for home automation purposes.
Hi,
You can use the Automation IO Service and Profile to control the Air conditioner and Smart plug. Automation IO allows you to send or receive the state of a digital IO or analog IO.
This can be used for On, Off, get the state of a knob etc, so this can be used to turn on/turn off a smart plug or increase/decrease the air conditioning. Automation IO is now a prototyping specification (as of date) and is available to all Bluetooth SIG members.
To clean things up, I'd be happy if you could evaluate the answers you have received and accept one of them if you feel it's sufficient. If not, it might be useful to expand your question a little and provide further information.
Is there a Nordic implementation of the Automation IO service? Or do I need to make my own? Thanks!
It is likely to be released as an experimental release in the next version of the SDK.
