UART0_CONFIG_USE_EASY_DMA =1 lead hight consumption

i use sdk14.2 52832      i use uart

UART0_CONFIG_USE_EASY_DMA =1  consumption ~2.1mA

UART0_CONFIG_USE_EASY_DMA =0  consumption ~650uA

Is this a normal phenomenon, is it true that UART0_CONFIG_USE_EASY_DMA = 1 causes power consumption to reach 2.1ma?

If this is abnormal, how to solve it?

This is normal. The easy DMA bus itself consumes quite a lot of current. However, since you don't need to use the CPU to read/write from the RX/TX buffers (in DMA mode), the difference shouldn't be that much in average.

If you get error code 1 in p_event->data.error_communication this means:

Overrun error

A start bit is received while the previous data still lies in RXD. (Previous data is lost.)

To avoid this use flow control.

I did not turn on dma, I just turned on UART_EASY_DMA_SUPPORT =1 which also caused 2.1mA power consumption. why,  is this normal?

Do you have DCDC componenets? You can turn on DCDC. Then the current will drop to 1.2 mA.

2.1mA is only during transmission. If you are struggeling with 2.1mA during IDLE, I would suggest to de-initialize the UART while not using it.

Are you able to use flow control?

What other things are you running in the application? softdevice?

yes , i use softdevice,  it is  a  uart example by myself , the flow control  can not use

I found that the 52810dma does not use dma and the power consumption of dma is not much different, it is around 500uA, but 52832 uses dma to reach 2mA without using dma550uA.
