Whitelisting nRF Connect with Symantec

We are in an environment that is highly security conscious. As a result any third party software cannot be installed unless it is white-listed with Symantec, our end point protection service. Our IT department has requested that the nRF Connect for Desktop software be whitelisted before we are allowed to install. They have asked us to reach out to the vendor to perform this task. Would this be the correct forum to make such a request? See the link below for more information.

  • Hi,

Sorry for the late reply. Your domain was block again by our IT department. I will ask them about providing logs if there are any issues. Is there any way I can receive confirmation that the software was successfully submitted for white-listing? Our IT department is asking for some kind of confirmation.

    Thanks,

    Garett

  • Hi Garret,

we have been waiting for your reply to the questions two months back, i.e.

Do we need to request whitelisting of only nRFConnect, or also nrfjprog command line tools and SEGGER JLink drivers installer (these are installed by nRFConnect)? All these have an Windows executable, and only two of these are Nordic packages. The question is really if we have to whitelist all "3rd party" SW (external and internal) used by nRF Connect for each separate version of said 3rd party SW? Or does your company only need one specific version of nRF Connect and its dependencies?

    Best regards
