nRF52840 DK Power Management Example Current Draw

Hello All,

I was wondering if someone can confirm the consumption of the nRF52840 in SYSTEM ON when running the Power Management Example on the nRF52840 DK board (in nRF only mode) with SDK15.0?

I am getting something like 900uA by using a 10 Ohm resistor (R90), powering via USB and measuring with a multimeter.

Does that make any sense? It sounds extremely high, since according to spec in SYSTEM ON the consumption should be in the range of 10s of uA not hundrends.

Is it the app_timer that causes the extra consumption?

Hi Sebastian,

If you measure with a multimeter, why do you have 10Ohm resistor on R90?

I would recommend you to set the multimeter in "ampere-mode" to measure current.

- Check if you have enabled logging. (It should be turned off)

- Set the chip in System Off. 

If the current is still high, there is most likely a fault in the way the current is measured.
