This link is a good starting point. The Thingy SDK uses a PDM input microphone. You can take a look at Section 43 in the Thingy User Guide found here. The Nordic Thingy SDK is based on sdk 13 & can be downloaded here.

The PDM example located here might also be useful, but I believe the best starting point is the Thingy SDK.
