The PDK does not show up in file explorer. Power switch in VDD position. LED 1 is on solid. The device manager universal Serial Bus controllers does not list any device that looks like the Preview SDK board. I have changed to a different computer, swapped out the USB cable, switched HUBs. LED 1 is slowly pulsing with brightness change and buttons change which LED is pulsing. LED 6 is flashing rapidly. Any idea's on what I can do to get the JLINK drive showing again?
Fixed, I think. I tried some more USB cables from different manufacturers. I have 6 cables. Three cables bring up the JLINK drive and three do not. For now I will write this off to a run of bad cables…

I have just had the same problem.

With the original USB cable included in the pack, the nRF52840 DK is not working. I have tried with 4 USB cables; with 2 cables is working and with other 2 is not working.
I have Windows 10 Home 64 bits, processor based on x64, as occurred with 'rcosta', I don´t know if it could have some relation with this USB problem.
It is quite and unpredectible behaviour for me.
Maybe you could create a new ticket about this?
Best regards.
Wow!! I totally had the same issue. One USB cord got the DK to be powered up with the LED to flash but File Explorer didn't detect the DK. I read this post and used a different USB and by golly it works. Frustrating but hey it works now. :)
