What are the difference between system on with ram retention, RTC wakeup vs FreeRTOS tickless with RTC wakeup?

Hi There,

What are the difference between system off, ram retention, RTC wakeup vs system on with ram retention, RTC wakeup vs FreeRTOS tickless with RTC wakeup? And what are the current comsumption for Nordic's FreeRTOS tickless with RTC wakeup? Sorry I cannot find much info between this 3 implementation for nnRF52832 online. So far I only get info that during system off, you only can use hardware pin interrupt to wake the system and it does sounds different from FreeRTOS tickless which able to wakeup with RTC.

I am not sure what you are trying to ask, but system on with ram retention and FreeRTOS tickless are not similar topics. Maybe you want to know these power consumption scenarios. 

1. System Off with RAM retention and GPIO or NFC field detection wakeup

The system will go into deepest sleep mode but a wakeup will reset the system to run the reset interrupt handler. This can be done with or without any RTOS.

 

2. FreeRTOS tickless -> Please read this external material.
