nRF24L01 USB not recognizable

Hello all,

I'm new to  nRF24L01 and trying to get the evaluation kit ( with Nordic's software) to work on windows 10.  After reading previous threads, I used windows xp with virtualbox VM but still getting the USB error. The error message is :" There was an error accessing the USB. Please exit the program reconnect the device and try again." I have tried to see if it's the USB driver's problem but other USB storage devices work as expected in VM. 

Is there a way to resolve this issue? Or I will just have to work with other platform with nRFL01?

Hi,

My recommendation is to connect the nRF24L01 radio module directly to your preferred MCU, and for instance use this white paper as guide on how to configure and use the nRF24L01:

The EVK software unfortunately only works with old Windows XP (take into account it's about >10years old), it's actully not very useful for anything but simple demo.

For new development and products I would have considered the nRF52-series.

Thank you for the reply. I will check the white paper to configure the module. Here are some questions from from my brief skim through the document:

1. We need to purchase 2x SiLabs C2 Adapter so we can work with the modules in the evaluation kits correct? 

2. You suggested us to connect the RF modules to MCU... if we already have the evaluation kits, we can use the MCU on the board directly without having to buy another MCU right?

Hi,

You can use the Silabs in the evkit yes, but I suggest that you follow the guidelines in the application note on how to port the code to the MCU you plan to use for your project as soon as possible.
