Python script issue

Hi,

I am using PPK for measuring the current of custom hardware without DK. I want to know that P16(Ext DUT) is the only source of supply for DUT. So is there any additional setup for measuring device consumption means after giving supply to DUT will it measure automatically or need to probe somewhere else?

In addition to this, as per Rev2.2 of PPK User Guide shown below, necessary to run with python software?

Because if I use then I am facing the issue like this, for solving this, will you provide me the steps or proper guidance?

Need to figure it out asap. Hope you will guide me properly.

Waiting for your response.

  • Hi,

Are you using that, or to you have the PPK connected to a DK (which you can even if you are measuring current of a external DUT)? The current PPK software does not work correctly with an external J-Link. Also, at which position are the switches on the PPK? You can find the correct setup for various configurations under Configuring Power Profiler Kit. If you have a DK, you should follow Measuring current on custom hardware with nRF5 DK

A common problem which causes the app to not work is if you accidentally program the PPK with firmware that was intended for the DUT. You need to disconnect the PPK or put the COM switch to the "wrong" position (e.g. EXT if it is connected to the DK) if you want to program the DUT, and then put it back when you want to use the PPK to measure current. If you have accidentally flashed the firmware, then you can erase it and program the firmware that was shipped with the old python based PPK software. You should then be prompted to upgrade when you select it from nRF Connect.
