Hi Abhishek,
We do not have a power calculator for the nRF52840, only for the nRF52832. The current consumption for the nRF52840 is generally comparable to the nRF52832, so the Online Power Profiler results are useful in a nRF52840 context as well. You can compare with the Current consumption scenarios in the nRF52840 product specification.
Hi Einar Thorsrud
Thanks for your reply. As you mentioned that power consumption for nRF52840 is comparable to nRF52832. Our doubt is nRF52832 supports upto +4dBm power but nRF52840 supports upto +8dBm power. when nRF52840 is running at +8dBm power can we take same power as nRF52832 at +4dBm.
Hi,
No, the current consumption will be higher when the nRF52840 transmits at +8 dBm. I recommend you refer to the current consumption for Radio transmitting/receiving to get the current consumption when the radio is transmitting at +8 dBm and adjust the numbers you get from the nRF52 power calculator accordingly. The numbers in the table assume 3 V VDD and that the DC/DC is used, and you can see that in that case you should see an instantaneous current consumption of 16.4 mA when radio is transmitting in 1 Mbps BLE mode at +8 dBm (IRADIO_TX0).
