BLE Acknowledgement

do the BLE protocol acknowledge after sending/receiving pacquets ? I looked at all the documents gived by nordic but no answer !

In a connection, all packets are link-level ACK-ed.

is that means that if the nRF51822 is connected by bluetooth, it's gonna receive and transmit an ACK level for every bluetooth transaction ?
