Questions about the role of the mobile in GATT connections with the mesh light-switch examples.

When using my mobile to make provisioning with the GATT provisioning example for the light switch, is the mobile a node? Does it get the messages as well? Does it work as a relay node too? I'm using the 2.1.1 SDK with the nrf52832 chip with the Softdevice version 6.0. Thanks!

Are you referring to the Android or the iOS app? Or just in general?

I'm using the Android app, but I want to know in general... Though that tell me it's different in those apps?

As of right now, the mobile phone can be the provisioner of a mesh network, but it is not a full fledged mesh node as of right now. The phone does not support the relay functionality for example. In a later update of the nrf mesh app, the phone will become a node & will be able to relay messages.

The phone does transmit & receive messages, such as provisioning, configuration & generic on/off messages.

So does that mean the phone doesn't get the messages? What I wanted to do is to create notifications everytime someone pressed the button from the client.

The phone does get some messages, but it can't relay the messages. Would you want to create your own custom model to create the notifications & send them to the phone? If you are versed in Android or iOS programming, you could update the nrf mesh source code yourself.

Alright, thank you very much... I was already doing some modifications on the app to get notifications, I just wasn't sure what or if messages were captured by the phone. Thanks a lot!
