Which protocol/interface/service to use for such problem?

Hello,

I am looking for wireless communication solution between two devices with a maximum distance of 5-10m for controlling a speed of the electric-assisted vehicle (basically -100%-0-100% value) and some other parameters. I was looking into nRF52840 SoC as it provides multiple protocol support and other capabilities.

I am trying to decide which protocol to use and for e.g. if Bluetooth which is the best service for sending communicating such data between remote control and base unit.

My main requirements are signal reliability (no downtimes, while using in heavily populated areas and etc) and lowest latency. I was thinking of utilizing something like Bluetooth gamepad control service or something similar, but I am not sure if for e.g. underlying Bluetooth will be changing channels and etc if noise levels rise and other problems happen...

Any help on deciding protocol and etc would be really helpful as I don't have vast knowledge about all possible protocol/service variants available to select off.

BLE is very robust and offers interoperability between different devices. If you have an nRF5x device in both ends you should also consider Gazell as it is also robust and free. See Gazell Link Layer User Guide

If you go for bluetooth you should create your own service. Search Devzone for tutorials, blogs, and questions for more detail.

Does Gazell work with other protocols at the same time? Like BLE or etc? I would like also to have BLE UART communication for device/smartphone communication for configuring the device.

Yes, see the Multiprotocol Application, but If you're gonna do BLE anyways you might as well stick to just BLE.
