Raspberry Pi based IoT Hub Platform w/ Thingy:52 support

Hi, We've developed an IoT platform that runs on Raspberry Pi's that has just been released and we're actively seeking beta testers (see www.omniot.com). In short the platform lets you quickly build out many typical IoT edge applications with no programming required. It has a powerful object based rule engine so you can just pick your sensor(s), including the Thingy:52, and configure it to do many typical IoT tasks:

  • decode and forward sensor packet data to remote servers
  • decode and log sensor data in binary or XML format
  • correlate sensor data threshold values to exception events
  • trigger alarms (external hardware, send email/sms, etc)
  • control GPIO inputs and outputs
  • and a lot (whole lot) more

Applications that normally would take weeks or even months to program can be literally configured in a matter of minutes. You get access to all the Thingy:52's broadcasted sensor data through a simple dropdown dialog in the provided configuration utility.

Our long term the plan is to keep the platform free for non-commercial use so if you're at all interested head on over to our website and take a look. The installation package can be downloaded from our Support Page (even if you don't want to provide beta feedback). Any questions feel free to post here or contact us directly. Thanks!

  • Just to follow up... we've now opened this up to anyone and the complete installation and documentation package can be downloaded from the support page of our website (www.omniot.com). We've also just uploaded two "Developers Crash Course" videos to give you an idea of what the platform can do (and how easy it is to use). And of course the demo video's prominently feature the Thingy:52. Any questions please let us know...

  • Another update, lot's of new features and new sensor support... we've also just added an initial cut of MQTT support allowing you to easily monitor your Thingy:52 remotely via cloud based dashboards. We'll be improving on this initial version in the coming months (the current rc has been only tested with Azure IoT). Here's a quick example video showing data from a Phoenix Sensor's water pressure sensor being displayed on a Power BI dashboard (by way of an Azure IoT hub connection) -

We'll have similar video's featuring the Thingy:52 soon but regardless putting together a dashboard for the Thingy:52 should be about an hours effort.

The full rc install package can be downloaded at https://www.omniot.com/rc-download and feel free to contact us through the website or via this post with any questions or comments... Thx
