Advice on CE vs Bluetooth certification

Hi everyone,

I am in the process of readying my firmware and hardware for CE certification.

The end functionality for this product is not yet finalized, but management expects support for BLE, ANT, Zigbee and proprietary protocols in the future by having different firmware versions.

In order to rule out certification issues due to hardware design problems, it has been decided to undergo CE certification ASAP. However, I have several questions regarding the certification requirements, which is specific to the radio hardware.

1. For the radio hardware, I'm using the radio test example for radio PHY CE certification. Is this sufficient?

2. Company management has requested to certify for the other protocols as well at the same time. Is this possible without having the finalized firmware version? For example, can I certify for Zigbee compliance by loading a simple program that demonstrates Zigbee functionality?

3. What is required for Bluetooth certification test? Is the Direct Test Mode firmware sufficient?

Thanks in advance.
