PB-remote

I see in the SDK that PB-remote is experimental.

"Provisioning over Mesh (PB-remote) (experimental)"

We are working on a very large project and are in the process of choosing the best method of provisioning. If the method is experimental, should we avoid it for production and choose another method of provisioning?

Is there are time frame where this experimental functionality will be main-stream?

  • The PB-Remote is an addition to PB-ADV that allows you to provision devices that are out of RF range from the provisioner, by using provisioned nodes as relays. This feature is interesting if you want to automate provisioning from a gateway. So in terms of what is the best method you need to consider if this is a need.

"Experimental" is an indicator of the test level. It does not mean it is untested, but there is a higher risk of having defects than the "production level" software. This means that as a customer you need to de-risk by testing yourself, or wait for the production version. Careful testing of the end product is in any case recommended.
