nRF51822 Audio streaming capabilities

we are studying component base for development Wireless Hearing Aid device.

trying to understand limitations and capabilities of your nRF51822 SoC.

 

1. Can nRF51822 SoC be used to receive audio stream in format of Apple's Bluetooth Low Energy Audio and/or Android's ASHA (Audio Streaming for Hearing Aids) Protocol?

 

2. Do you have protocol stack (firmware) to support nRF51822 SoC Audio Streaming functionality in said format?

 

3. Your nRF51822 SoC is used in Om Semiconductor's Ezairo 7150 SL Hybrid device. At present E7150 receives Audio data stream using your IC only in Om Semi's proprietary format. Can software controlling your nRF51822 SoC in that device be modified such that E7150 receives Audio data stream  in format of Apple's Bluetooth Low Energy Audio and/or Android's ASHA (Audio Streaming for Hearing Aids) Protocol?

Hello,

1. Sorry no. I expect this to change the day Bluetooth SIG agree on a profile to support audio over BLE. Likely the nRF51-series will not be able to support audio due to limited features/resources, the nRF52-series is likely a much better candidate in future. Also check out:
