Custom Thingy:52 FW development - Cookbook Example

I want to develop a custom Firmware for the Thingy:52.

I am using a Segger Edu J-link Debugger and the Thingy:52 PCA20020 Version 1.0.0. As an IDE i am using 64bit Segger Embedded Studio running on Windows 10.

Everything is brand-new, no additional software is installed. I have only downloaded the Thingy:52 SDK V2.1.0 and the driver for the J-link debugger.

Can you give a short cookbook example on how to develop and program a custom firmware, from start to finish? Including the prerequisites before programming, the use of the libraries, the debugging and the implementation of the FW.

I am a complete beginner, as i have previously only programmed Arduino. I cannot afford Keil and i do not wish to use gcc.

I would appreciate any help, thanks in advance.
