A TX power of -30dBm still possible

Hello fellow Nordic Community,

We have a usecase in which it would be beneficial with a tx power of -30 dBm. This is a value that was supported with the nRF51 chip series but when the nRF52 was introduced it was replaced with -40 dBM.

We are using the nRF52840 chip together with SoftDevice 6.0.0 and SDK 15.

I wonder if there is a way to get a TX power of -30dBm with the nRF52840?

Looking at the API it looks like the eight dBm values are limited due to a mask with eight bits. Is that so or why was -30 dBm removed?

Unfortunately, only the values listed in the TXPOWER register are available.

I see, and there's no other way to reduce the signal strenght other than physically damping the signal?
