nRF52DK/nRFConnect on Mac: JLINKARM_DLL_NOT_FOUND (ffffff9c)

Hi Nordic support,

I have a nRF52840-Preview-DK. When I try to connect to nRF Connect on my Mac I get the following error:
"Error while probing devices: Error occured when get serial numbers. Errorcode: CouldNotOpenDLL (0x7) Lowlevel error: JLINKARM_DLL_NOT_FOUND (ffffff9c)"

Can you provide any guidance on how to correct this?

What is the DK supposed to do out-of-the-box by the way? I cannot see that it advertises.

Cheers,
Fredrik

  • Hi Fredrik,

Which version of nRF Connect are you currently running? Which app are you using in nRF Connect? Have you set the pdk SW9 to VDD & the SW6 to default. Also, have you done any current measurements with the ppk? If you have cut the SB40, you will need to put a jumper on there.

Also, it could be that you need to upgrade the jlink interface MCU software. You can download it from here. Then, turn the pdk off, hold the IF BOOT/RESET button while turning the device back on. This should put the device in bootloader mode when looked at in Finder. Finally, just drag & drop the bin file into the bootloader folder. You might need to power cycle the board again.

    Kind Regards,

    Bjørn

  • Hei Bjørn,

So I did the JLink SW update, which was a breeze by the way, but I still have the same problem with nRF Connect. Anything else I can try?

Also, what is the preloaded SW on the nRF52 doing?

    Cheers,
    Fredrik
