Implementing the Immediate Alert Service with the Peripheral as a Client, Central as the Server -- not working in IOS

I am using the BMD-350 in a new device that reads off of a sensor and changes the alert level in the IAS based on the value. Implementing the client  on this peripheral, I am able to read the alert level on the Android phone after configuring the GATT server in the NRF Connect app. However, it looks like the capability to implement the server and stay as the central is not available in IOS. Is this true, or an I missing something?

I believe you are correct, but I will double check with R&D & get back to you soon.

Update: Yes, this is unfortunately correct. The GATT Server has not been implemented on iOS yet.

Is there any way to "read" an IAS alert level on iOS?

Yes, this should be possible. Take a look at the proximity application.

The problem with the proximity application for us, is that on iOS, we can only detect a change in alert level while the app is in the foreground. In our application, we need to be able to read alert changes while the app is in the background on the phone.

I think we need to create a custom GATT service that includes the read, write, and notify/indicate characteristics.
