s110_nrf51822_7.0.0 not suitable for nRF51822 QFABB0 (128kb version)

I would like someone from Nordic to confirm that the new softdevice release s110_nrf51822_7.0.0 is not suitable for the 128kb versions of the chip (in my case nRF51822 QFABB0) because of the size of the stack.

The size of the new softdevice is 0x2A000 (168kb). Is this right?

Is there any other workaround to have DFU OTA for the 128kb version?

Thank you.

  • According to the release notes for soft device 7.0.0: "The size of the SoftDevice has been increased to 88 kB." And there is nothing in the limitations section of the release notes that say it won't work with the 128kB version of the chip.
