nRF51822 and iOS8

Hi, we've been using nRF51822 for developing application and iOS 7.x detect then just fine. Since I upgraded to iOS 8. Beacons are 'invisible' to our application. I was wondering is somebody else is experiencing the same problem.

If I create beacon with the same proximity UUID it gets detected.

When I sniffed the traffic I noticed that header of packages if a bit different. Could this be a problem?

  • Ok, I figured it out.

I had to change Company identifier code from 0x0059 (Nordic Semiconductor) to 0x004C (Apple).

The only explanation I can get from that is that Apple started to 'monitor' this specification, because iOS 7 worked just fine.
