Has anyone got nRF Sniffer v2, v2.0.0-2.beta working on PCA10056 and wireshark 2.6.3 on Win 7

Hi

I can see LED1 on my PCA10056 board flashing away.
I can see a comport associated with it in device manager.
In a terminal emulator I can see a lot of data coming through from that port.

However when I start Wireshrk I do not see the nrf sniffer interface board as described in nRF_Sniffer_User_Guide_v2.1.pdf.

I can confirm that when I start Wireshark, I have closed the terminal emulator app so that the comport is not busy.

I have Python36 and Python27 on my PC and PATH is specifying Python36

What am I doing wrong?

Hi,

I have it working with Wireshark 2.6.3 on Windows 7. What is the content of your extcap folder? The nRF Sniffer user guide is not precise on what files you should extract there. Here is my extcap folder (which works):

I have exactly that.
In the end I got it to work by modifying the batch file with the content ...


cd SnifferAPI
"c:\Python27\python.exe" Sniffer.py
cd ..

I have zero python experience so you may want to talk to your python experts to understand why this works for me and then based on the understanding update the user guide.
