IOS Device name

Hi all,

I know that IOS has many restrictions regarding Bluetooth and one of them is, of course, changing the device name of the peripheral device. The peripheral device uses nrf51822 chip. As far as I know, this can be done via some specially added characteristic because the Generic Access Service is not accessible on IOS such as on Android. I would like to ask if this is the only solution for changing the device name of a peripheral device via IOS phones

Yes, that is correct. To be able to change the name on the peripheral, a custom characteristic must be added.

I dont' have experience with background bluetooth on iOS myself, but there are a couple of posts about it on this forum. What are you looking for exactly? It think it is better if you create a new ticket with more information :)
