Rocket telemetry system

Hi, I'm part of a student project where we are building a rocket. The rocket will be launched in a desert with clear line of sight, to a height of about 3000 m. We need a telemetry system and have been looking at the nRF9E5, but we are not sure if it has the range. Will the nRF9E5 work for this, or is there another solution from Nordic that is better suited?

We are not looking to send more than 15 kb/s.

Our offerings are low power solutions and I think the farthest we tested on land was about 1.6 Kms. We have not made any high altitude tests but I think at 3000 meters I do not think you can get any reasonable communication with any of our offering I think you need to try some non low power solutions.
